# I want to install ThinLinc for Linux but I don’t know which version to install

One of our website visitors is not sure about which version to install and wrote us the following “I want to install Thinlinc for Linux but I don’t know which version to install”

Hello,

Which variant of ThinLinc Linux client to download depends on which distribution he or she is using.

If its an Debian/Ubuntu based distribution then the appropriate version to download is the DEB version.  
If its an RPM based distribution, i.e CentoS/Fedora/Redhat, it would be the RPM version.  
If its something else, then the tar.gz
