A ThinLinc customer asked the following question this week:

**Is ThinLinc capable to transfer image clipboard content from a remote server to a local client?**

The short answer is “no”.

ThinLinc is incapable to transfer image clipboard content from a remote server to a local client. The clipboard content is limited to text.

However, there is an alternative that might help the user to transfer an image from the remote server to the local client. The functionality is called “thindrives”. Thindrives allows accessing, for instance, a folder from the local machine inside the remote desktop session, among other possibilities.

When a local client folder is accessed inside the remote desktop session, it is possible to drag and drop a file from the remote desktop to the local client. It works for several file types, including images.

Below you find a [link](https://youtu.be/nms1Pj753Rc) to a YouTube video which demonstrates the use of “thindrives” for sharing a PNG file, from a Red Hat/ Mate remote desktop to a Windows client.

Q: Hello! Do we have some way to clipboard copy & paste files or some other
way to move files from my local PC to the remote Thinlinc server?

This is an example of another question that can be answered with the content of this post:
