Sever can not be connected via thinlinc but can be connected via ssh

Hello again,

It looks like the Profile Selection program is crashing

Running /opt/thinlinc/etc/xstartup.d/20-tl-select-profile.sh (Choosing a profile)

(process:6798): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback ‘C’ locale.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “/opt/thinlinc/libexec/tl-select-profile”, line 461, in
locale . setlocale ( locale . LC_ALL , “” )
File “/usr/lib64/python2.7/locale.py”, line 581, in setlocale
return _setlocale(category, locale)
locale.Error: unsupported locale setting

And also indicators from other programs that there is problems with locale on the system

Openbox-Message: Couldn’t set locale from environment.

/etc/profile.d/lang.sh: line 90: warning: setlocale: LC_TIME: cannot change locale (en_US.UTF-8)

While this shouldn’t normally cause logins not to work at all, it is something we’ve have an open https://www.cendio.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4512 for in our Bugzilla and have made improvements on during later versions of ThinLinc.

We’ve heard of this before, and other people did successfully mitigated this problem by setting up locales properly for their Linux distributions provided tools for doing so.

Could you please try to do so for you distribution and report back to us if that helped you in this issue?

Best regards,
Martin
