Wondering if it would be possible to add VDA power management (physical or virtual) to the admin console, and whether this is something being considered for a future release? It would be a useful feature and would save having to switch between hypervisor management consoles or terminals to manage the VDAs.
ThinLinc tries to be platform-agnostic, so this is not something which is on the roadmap at present. Other platforms (such as Citrix) are quite tightly vertically-integrated, with the solution providing everything from hypervisor to client, and everything in between. ThinLinc tries to be more modular, which offers a great deal of flexibility, but means that things like power management fall outside of the product scope. Hope that makes sense!
From an admin/support viewpoint, I still think having the ability to shut down or restart a VDA is a useful option in the admin console. CVAD, Horizon, AVD and Parallels RAS all provide this functionality in their native admin consoles, and Citrix Director too.
We’re already able to place a server into drain/maintenance mode from the console, so to me it seems logical to also have shutdown and restart available as an action.
