I tried using the Raspi 4 before as the ThinLinc Master.
The performance was barely not enough to allow a stable experience.
Is the Raspi 5 enough to get it running smoothly?

I’m a bit out of the loop on RPi at the moment - does the 5th generation allow running x86 software?
In general, performance will depend mostly on your particular use-case, i.e. which desktop environment and applications you are running, etc. So the only way to know for sure would be to test it.
If you do decide to try, it would be interesting to hear your feedback.
