ThinLinc is a commercial, fully-supported product which generally requires the purchase of user licenses for production use. However, in order to simplify evaluation and reduce cost for smaller installations, we do allow free usage for a limited number of users by providing Community Licenses for this purpose.
Community Licenses do not include access to our full support offering. However, the ThinLinc software itself is unrestricted when used with Community Licenses, and you will have access to the same features and end-user experience as you would with paid licenses.
The ThinLinc server ships with three Community Licenses out of the box, allowing up to 3 concurrent users to run sessions simultaneously. For free usage up to ten concurrent users, Community Licenses must be downloaded separately. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:
NOTE: Prior to ThinLinc 4.19.0, all Community Licenses were shipped as part of the server bundle. If you are upgrading to ThinLinc 4.19.0 or later, and wish to continue using ThinLinc for free, please be aware that you will need to download the licenses separately as described above.
If you wish to use ThinLinc for less than 10 concurrent users and require access to Cendio’s full support offering, it is still possible to do so. Simply get in touch with our sales team and we’ll be happy to provide you with a quote.
