ThinLinc 4.19.0 will drop support for RHEL 7, Debian 9, Ubuntu 18.04, and SLES 12

In the upcoming ThinLinc 4.19.0, scheduled for release this summer, both the server and Linux client will have increased operating system requirements¹. In practice, this means that ThinLinc will no longer work on several end-of-life distributions, most notably:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • Debian 9
  • Ubuntu 18.04
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise 12

We therefore urge everyone still on these end-of-life distributions to upgrade their systems to be able to upgrade to ThinLinc 4.19.0 on release.

¹ The minimum required glibc version will be raised from 2.12 to 2.28.
