ThinLinc + Vivado = Trouble? Looking for Help

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using ThinLinc for the past couple of months on a few personal servers—typically with around 3 to 4 users per machine—and everything has been running smoothly so far.

Recently, I set up a new server and installed the ThinLinc server on it. This one is dedicated to running Vivado, an engineering and FPGA development tool. Things work just fine when a single user logs in and runs processes on Vivado.

But here’s the issue:
As soon as a second user logs into the ThinLinc server, the process running on Vivado for the first user gets abruptly terminated. The error message is a vague “abnormal program termination,” and I haven’t been able to trace the exact cause.

Has anyone out there experienced a similar problem with ThinLinc and Vivado (or other heavy GUI tools)?
Any suggestions on what might be going wrong or how I can troubleshoot this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Babak_Foroughi,

I don’t have any experience with Vivado specifically, but are there any log files which might provide some clues as to what’s going on?

When you say a “second user” logs on, do you mean using the same user account? Or a different username?
