Been using thinlinc for over a year now on kubuntu 24 and loving it. Recently i upgraded my video card from nvidia to amd (and to kubuntu 25) and have a strange problem where each monitor shows both displays side by side (with black bars on top or bottom) unless the f8 menu is up (the monitor where the menu shows now shows the full display as expected) or the about dialog from the f8 menu is up (both monitors show the full display as expected).
Mouse input still works as expected (as if the display was full screen on the right monitor)
Any thing i can do to fix? Will have to swap back to old setup otherwise as i use it for work.
It sounds like this is an issue with the client hardware (GPU) configuration, so I’m not sure there’s much we can do from a ThinLinc perspective. If you do manage to sort it out though please let us know, in case others run into the same problem.
If you open the Display tab in the ThinLinc client settings, does it show one display or two? You could try having a play around with the settings there, for example see if there’s a difference in behaviour befween “Full screen on all monitors” and “Full screen on selected monitors”. But the fact that the F8 menu changes things is very weird.
There’s not really much in the way of logging unfortunately, we would probably have to try and replicate this to debug further. Let us know if you find anything.
