OpenRV 4.0 and ThinLinc playback audio sync/delay

Some media files when played in OpenRV 4.0 exhibit approximately 1 second audio/video sync issues when running inside a ThinLinc session. The audio playback is at least 1s out of sync with the video.

Da Vinci Resolve,VLC, MPV and SMPlayer play the same media files correctly in the ThinLinc session.

In an XRDP session, the same files in OpenRV play correctly and audio/video tracks are in sync. So its not an OpenRV issue.

I attempted some basic troubleshooting and noticed that Thinlincs PulseAudio tunnel currently shows noticeably higher audio latency than XRDP during playback in OpenRV testing.

Hard to say, unfortunately. Even if it’s not an OpenRV issue, it’s not necessarily an issue with ThinLinc either, since the audio sync is fine with e.g. VLC. You could check for any PulseAudio-related messages in the user session logs (/var/opt/thinlinc/sessions/<username>/last/xinit.log), but otherwise it might be worth asking on the OpenRV forum.
