Request for client plugins for popular connection managers

Is there a possibility you’ll provide ThinLinc Client Plugins for some popular connection managers such as Remmina, RemoteDesktopManager, mRemote, MobaXterm, etc.?

Hi @tpx-mk,

Interesting idea, but that’s not something we’re planning to do at the moment I’m afraid.

@tpx-mk do you have any examples of how such a plugin looks/works? Do you have any insights on which connection manager would be the most popular?

nothing reliable but to make some educated guesses…
…for Linux I’d definitely go for Remmina as it’s OpenSource, included in almost every distribution, easy to use and it supports a wide range of protocols.
RemoteDesktopManager is also free (in the solo version) and widely used because of many features and multi-platform support.
mRemoteNG is also OpenSource and well-known but only for Windows and it seems to be orphaned at the moment…

do you have any examples of how such a plugin looks/works?

as I already wrote above Remmina is OpenSource. there there are NX- and x2go-Plugins and as far as I understand ThinLinc it works at least kind of similar… so maybe these plugins can be used as a base?

unfortunately about the others I really can’t tell.

Thanks. For reference, here are Remmina’s plugins:

It doesn’t seem overly simple when looking at the existing plugins found there. I was hoping for the possibility of just starting a different app and not having to interface intimately with Remmina’s interface.
